Coach Zurovec was born and raised in Channelview, Texas and graduated from Channelview High School. There he played basketball as well as baseball. After High School he was able to continue his athletic career receiving a scholarship to play baseball at Lon Morris Junior College. He later graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Texas A&M University.
Coach Zurovec’s motivation to coach basketball is to help teach and motivate young athletes to become skilled, enthusiastic basketball players and people. He began coaching recreational basketball with a focus on understanding the rules and fundamentals of the sport. In 2014 he served as an assistant to coach Yates and began to study the game at a more in depth level while honing his skills as a basketball coach. This past season he was the head 8
th grade boys basketball coach at Fort Worth Christian.
Professionally, he has spent the last fifteen years working in the criminal justice field and is currently employed with the U.S. Department of Justice. This experience along with a successful stint as both a high school and college athlete adds to his desire to help young athletes achieve their goals both on and off the court.
