Michael Wheeler

Coach Wheeler was born and raised in Ft. Worth, TX.  He played basketball at both Paschal HS and Trinity Valley HS, where he graduated.  During his time at Texas Christian University, he coached for four years at his alma mater.  He later went on to earn a Masters Degree in Business Administration from American University in Washington DC.

Four years ago, after much prayer and consideration, Coach Wheeler decided to pursue a career in education and renew his career in coaching.  Currently, he is in first year as the Head Boys Basketball Coach for Saint Jo High School.  This season his team made the playoffs for the first time in seven years and finished as the runner up in district play. 

Most recently he was the head boys basketball coach for Coram Deo Academy in Plano.  Prior to this role, he served as a middle school math/business communications teacher at Liberty Christian School.  Additionally, he coached the Junior Varsity boys basketball team and assisted the Varsity team during the 2016-2017 season.  For the 2015-2016 season, he coached the school’s 7th grade basketball team.

Before pursuing his endeavor into education, he worked in the Travel/Tourism industry for 12 years.  He was responsible for analyzing trends and forecasting financials and customer behavior for such companies as Vail Resorts, Pebble Beach Resorts, Auberge Resorts and Rosewood Hotels.

Coach Wheeler serves as a board member for Texas Express.  His teams over the last three seasons have had enormous success winning multiple tournaments and travelled/participated in Invitational tournaments around the country.  He is excited to pass on his knowledge and love for the game to his players.
