Kaitlyn Landers is a Fort Worth native. She was born in Godley, Texas, and attended Godley High School. She was a three-year varsity letter for the Lady Cats. Landers was also involved in AAU where she helped lead her team to a National Championship before starting her senior year. After having a successful basketball career, Landers was forced to turn down her college offers due to a back injury. Once Landers graduated, she started coaching AAU with her former AAU coach and took an interest in coaching and is now working towards her Bachelor's in Secondary Education.
Coach Landers worked at the Trinity Valley School from 2018-2021 where she was the Middle School A team assistant, JV Head Coach, and Varsity assistant. After her first season at TVS, she started coaching boys basketball in the spring/summer/fall. Landers is now at William James Middle School working in educational technology and coaching middle school girls basketball. Prior to Texas Express, Landers made stops with the DFW Hawks and A-Game Athletes where she coached 7th-10th grade boys. Coach Landers is in her third year with the club.
After many years of being inside of a gym as a player and coach, Coach Landers has learned that in order to get players to their highest potential, you have to be willing to put in as much work, energy, and passion into the game as the player does. Landers fosters an intense style of coaching and pushes her teams to play with the same level of intensity. While placing an emphasis on understanding fundamentals and learning the IQ of the game, she enjoys playing at a high competitive level of basketball. She has developed her style of coaching from her former coaches and trainers, including hall of fame Coach Dean Weese as well as role model Kim Mulkey.
