Jenny Woodward was born and raised in Amarillo, TX where she attended Amarillo High School. She was a three-year varsity letterman in basketball and a two-year varsity letterman in soccer. During her basketball career at Amarillo High, she was a two-time All State player, two-time District MVP, and State Champion Runner up, among many other numerous accolades. After receiving many full athletic scholarship offers, she chose to attend The University of Texas at San Antonio to pursue a degree in Business.
Jenny began her coaching career at Arbor Christian Academy in Amarillo, TX as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball coach. After deciding to homeschool their two children, she became very involved in their athletic programs serving as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball coach for 6 years, about to begin year 7, and the Head Girls Volleyball coach for 3 years. She has also served on numerous boards for the National Christian Homeschool Championships organization.
After many years of playing and coaching the game of basketball Coach Woodward has learned that there is more than just basketball to be learned between the lines. She strives to bring out the highest potential in each player that she coaches and help them to reach their personal goals as well as the goals of the team. She believes in fundamentals, increasing players IQ, and playing defense at a high level of intensity. She is very competitive and loves playing and coaching at a high level. It is also very important to Coach Woodward to be a strong leader by example and through her spiritual faith.
Coach Woodward married her high school sweetheart, Joshua in 1999, together they have two children and one grandchild. Addison, her husband Noah, and son Zadok live in Fort Worth and her son Jake “Woody” is attending college at Harding Simmons University. In her spare time she enjoys playing sand volleyball, cookouts with family and friends, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
