Coach James Polk graduated from Everman High School where he participated in the varsity athletic program for 4 years. In high school he was all-district, area, region, and state in multiple sports. In 1995 he was a member of the Texas Class 4A State Championship Track Team. In college he was a two sport athlete competing in baseball and football on some outstanding teams graduating in 2001. Upon graduation Polk was hired by Kennedale as a teacher/coach; he spent 10 years coaching several sports under Athletic Director Richard Barrett. In 2004, he was the coach of the Texas Class 3A State Champions Track Team. In his 10 seasons Polk was an offensive coordinator, head girls/boys track coach and head powerlifting. "Coach Barrett really molded and taught me how to be an overall athletic director not just a football athletic director", Polk said. In 2012 Polk was hired at Snyder and in 2014 took over full responsibility as Athletic Director. Coach Polk is married to Brittenie and has two daughters Landrie and Bristol.
