Coach Woods was born and raised in Leesville, Louisiana, where he was a four-year letterman at Leesville High School in basketball. During his high school career he garnered many accolades. He was selected 1st-Team All-District three times, All State twice, and received McDonald's All-American Honorable Mention recognition.
In addition to his individual accolades, he helped lead his high school to their first-ever state championship in 2001.
Upon graduation, he received an athletic scholarship to Louisiana Tech University. After 3 seasons at LaTech, he would transfer to Northwestern State University (LA) where he assisted in winning multiple Southland Conference champions. He graduated with B.S. in General Studies in 2007.
After college Coach Woods spent several years working in retail and sales industry before his love for kids and passion for the game led back to the game. He's currently serving in his 2nd season as the Head Junior High basketball at HIllsboro JH. Previously, he was an assistant basketball coach at Round Rock Christian Academy.
